For more than 12 years, Dr. Cheryl van der Mark has been treating families just like yours in the GTA. Her family-focused approach to chiropractic care helps nurture comfort and trust with her patients. Dr. van der Mark is skilled in many different adjusting techniques including Diversified, Thompson and Activator. Her gentle patient-centred approach is paired with education to help her patients feel comfortable and relaxed.
In addition to her years of local clinical chiropractic expertise, Dr. van der Mark has international experience in directing teams of medical professionals including chiropractors, orthopaedic and plastic surgeons, general practitioners, medical specialists and dentists through her administration and development of a medical facility, outreach mobile medical clinics and surgical facility in Haiti. She is internationally recognized for her work in chiropractic and orthopaedics.
As a mother of 5, Dr. Cheryl has gained a true and inspired passion for treating pregnant women and children. This passion has resulted in her helping hundreds of women experience more comfortable pregnancies and births. Dr. van der Mark is certified with the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association as a Fellow in Paediatrics and Pregnancy, is Webster technique certified and she is a leader in the GTA in paediatric chiropractic.
Dr. van der Mark, a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and is the recipient of the Heart and Hands Award that honours her passion, vitality and dedication to her patients and the field of chiropractic.
Dr. van der Mark is honoured to serve the communities of Waterdown, Burlington, Flamborough and Hamilton at Waterdown Village Chiropractic Group and is active in both the Waterdown and Burlington communities. She looks forward to working with you to achieve optimal health for you and your family.
Dr. Janice Oldham graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2008 and has treated families across the GTA for more than eight years. Dr. Janice has worked as a full-time locum chiropractor where she filled in for chiropractors who were away from their practices for any length of time. During this time Dr. Janice gained vast experience in various practice styles and chiropractic treatment techniques that she now brings with her to Waterdown Village Chiropractic Group.
Dr. Janice continuously seeks to broaden her skills and knowledge through continuing education on a range of topics. She is a member of the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association (ICPA) and is certified in the Webster Technique and has extensive experience working with pre-and post-natal patients. Dr. Janice is currently enrolled in a certification program to achieve her fellowship in paediatrics, which will further enhance her expertise in paediatric care.
Being a local Waterdown resident, Dr. Janice is excited to join a chiropractic practice that adheres to the same quality and treatment philosophies that are important to her. She is passionate about helping all patients and their families improve their quality of life through chiropractic care.
Dr. Carly Wendler is a naturopathic doctor with a special interest and passion for family health and perinatal health (i.e. fertility, pregnancy, birth, and paediatrics). She completed her pre-medical studies at the University of Guelph earning an honours degree in Applied Human Nutrition. After an additional four years of postgraduate study, she graduated from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.
Dr. Carly regularly promotes informed choice for all individuals, couples, and families. She is a strong advocate for woman and baby centred care. In addition to her families, Dr. Carly warmly accepts all new patients of any age with any health care concern.
Dr. Wendler who has a passion for educating the public, hosts regular community workshops on a variety of health related topics, writes blogs and articles for her website, and is the host of Ask a Naturopathic Doctor for OhBaby! Magazine. She also hosts live webinar workshops for those in the community and abroad.
Dr. Carly has taught courses at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and was both a guest lecturer and Teaching Assistant at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She has published a Nutritional Pathology workbook which is used across Canada by those studying to become holistic nutritionists.
Dr. Melanie Hudson is a licensed naturopathic doctor with a passion for healthy living, family care and preventative medicine. She welcomes patients from all ages and stages of life, and has a special interest in women’s health, healthy weight loss and healing from stress and burnout. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Medical Sciences and Biology at the University of Western Ontario. She continued her pursuit of medicine in Toronto, completing the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM).
Through clinical assessment, interpretation of test results, use of naturopathic therapies and treatment plans, Dr. Melanie provides individuals and families with safe and effective healthcare solutions. Dr. Melanie is board certified for vitamin injections and IV therapy.
With a passion for community health promotion, Dr. Melanie hosts classes and interactive workshops in local community centres, actively shares health and wellness information through her Facebook and Instagram pages and has been featured on CHCH Morning Live TV discussing the benefits of naturopathic medicine. Dr. Melanie dedicates herself to both her patients and her own continuing education in the healthcare field. She looks forward to having a positive impact on the health of the Waterdown community.
WVCG is thrilled to have Amanda Holmes, Registered Massage Therapist, as part of the team! Amanda graduated from Centennial College’s Advanced Massage Therapy Program in 2012 and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Amanda has also recently completed her advanced training in pre-natal massage therapy and is currently enrolled in infant massage therapy training.
Over the course of her career, Amanda has dedicated her time to working with a variety of clients in areas such as, family care, sports injury, palliative care and geriatrics. She earned recognition from the 2015 and 2016 Burlington Readers’ Choice Awards as one of the city’s top Massage Therapists. She brings a diverse skill set and has worked within clinical, athletic, rehabilitation and relaxation settings. Amanda’s skills range from Deep Tissue massage, Swedish and Relaxation massage and Sports massage.
Amanda is dedicated to helping our clients achieve whole body health through registered massage therapy whether as an individual treatment or part of a consolidated wellness journey.
Danielle is an integral part of our WVCG Family, as a Chiropractic Health Assistant and our Team Lead, she is available to help you and your family find wellness solutions that meet your needs. Her friendly and welcoming nature will ensure you receive the utmost in professional care during every visit and interaction you have with our Group.
A seasoned communications specialist, Danielle will also create and deliver ongoing and meaningful communication, keeping you updated on all clinic and wellness news. Alison has a wealth of experience in the field of health care. She has worked as a Registered Nurse in the special care infant nursery at Joseph Brant Hospital and at medical and chiropractic offices in Burlington and Ancaster. Alison has always been interested in work that is helping others because she believes that supporting and caring for others is a way to lead a fulfilling life. Alison has a passion for family and enjoys many activities with her loving husband and 5 kids.
